Hi there! You have found someone with 22 years of accounting experience including a degree from Portland State. I say accounting not just bookkeeping. I know the difference between a liability and expense, been through audit reviews and worked with CPA's. In addition, I have formerly been an accounting manager of a high level CBD company and a corporate cash accountant. Quickbooks online certified. I have a degree in accounting and have worked in the business for 15 years working with a lot of small businesses. I was a consultant for 3 years and have experience working in different industries and different people.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started a tax prep firm in 2005. I would get books clean and ready for tax returns.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I worked on a store who had not done books or inventory for 18 months. I had to enter the sales and cost out the inventory and add inventory. Project took about 4 months.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look at experience and different industries. A lot of people are bookkeepers but might not have an accounting education. Some bookkeepers only know expense and income but struggle with balance sheet concepts (ie bank accounts, loans, liabilities, equity). I have worked in both and know the difference between and expense and a liability.

The scope of the project, their needs, what kind of professional they want to hire. Do they want someone with a lot of experience or are okay with basic experience.
